1) Combustion of Ethanol - that will produce carbon dioxide and water
2) Oxidation of Ethanol - that will produce ethanoic acid and water
3) Dehydration of Ethanol - that will produce ethene gas
Today, students of 5 Server successfully did the activity on Oxidation and Dehydration of Ethanol.
THE OXIDATION AGENT - ACIDIFIED POTASSIUM DICHROMATE (VI)
THE GIRLS HEATED THE MIXTURE OF ACIDIFIED POTASSIUM DICHROMATE (VI) AND ETHANOL
THE DISTILLATE COLLECTED (WATER) - THE BOYS' GROUP DISTILLATE
DEHYDRATION OF ETAHOL - THE GIRLS HEATED THE POROUS POT CHIPS (THE PORCELAIN CHIPS)THAT ACT AS CATALYST OF THE DEHYDRATION PROCESS
OUR NEXT CHEMISTRY CLASS WILL BE FOCUSING ON CARBOXYLIC ACID... HAPPY STUDYING...

da dapat collect 2 test tube full of ethene gas...tapi naper bla wat test ngan acidified potassium manganate ngan potassium dichromate,,,
naper x jadi colourless???
Ish.. ye ke.. Sarah..,masa masukkan acidified potassium dichromate tu, make sure gas ethene tak terlepas keluar.. dan selepas sudah dimasukkan, goncang kuat-kuat tabung uji.. insyaAllah akan bertukar warna dari purple ke colorless
